Color Studio Professional Velvet Lipsticks – Review & Swatches

Housed in a classy black tube,
Color Studio Professional Velvet Lipstick comes in 44 shades! I was sent 6 of them about which I was pretty ecstatic. I am a lipstick junkie; love hoarding them, love wearing them and just love trying out new colours. I have enjoyed
Color Studio nail colours in the past and reviewed them numerous times on my blog, so I definitely had high hopes from these lipsticks too.

I have been sporting these shades for over a week now and I think its about time I pen down my thoughts on them. First and foremost, I am quite blown away with the pigmentation of these lipsticks. One swipe and amazing colour payoff! ALL OF THEM! From the lightest to the darkest! Second thing, I noticed is how creamy and smooth they are. It’s a very forgiving formula, doesn’t emphasize any lip imperfections and doesn’t pull or drag during application either. These
Velvet Lipsticks definitely feel very comfortable and hydrating.

As for the finish, I would say it’s somewhere between satin and creamy. It’s not completely semi-matte since I do see a tad bit of a sheen when wearing them. The lighter shades like
Candid and
Juliet don’t last very long though, two hours or so and then they fade away evenly and completely. The darker ones like
Stylista and
Cherish last an hour longer and after wearing out, leave a stain behind.

Now for the shades I received!
115 Candid is a soft pinkish nude.
119 Juliet, one of my favourites, is a delicious coral pink and this colour is so me.
138 Spice is a gorgeous burnt orange which isn’t too neon yet loud and popping.
147 Stylista is a stunning hot pink, I am obsessed with this one.
163 Cherish is a beautiful classic red. And last but definitely not the least,
151 Reddy, is the perfect brown-toned burgundy, a great colour to wear in Fall/Winter.

Very honestly, I am smitten with all these colours. The longevity is the only issue with these lipsticks but besides that these are fabulous. Such a gorgeous array of shades with super high colour payoff! They don’t bleed or feather either. Although, I always prefer wearing very dark shades like
Cherish and
Reddy with a lipliner for a cleaner looking pout. For only 12 bucks, these do deserve a try!
