BECCA X JACLYN HILL CHAMPAGNE SPLIT – REVIEW & SWATCH

Becca x Jacyln Hill Champagne Split in ‘Champagne Pop / Flowerchild’ (swatch)

MY OPINION

I have to admit this is my first ever
Becca product. I was always intrigued by their collection. I really wanted to get the
Jaclyn Hill Face Palette and try the cult-favourite
Champagne Pop but the palette did contain some shades that were not my cup of tea. No one can imagine my excitement when
Becca announced their
Champagne Splits. Perfect for somebody who wants to have a go at their highlighters and blushes! I was pretty anxious that by the time I’ll be able to place an order it would be out of stock. Especially the
Champagne Pop / Flowerchild duo I wanted! But surprises of surprises most of the
Champagne Split Duos are still in stock on
Sephora.

The order was with me in 3 days all the way from USA. I don’t how they managed THAT! Anyways, now to the duo itself. The gold & silver metallic packaging is BOMBBB! So silly of me to forget photographing the duo closed..argh! Inside, the pan is split into a highlighter
(Champagne Pop) and a blush
(Flowerchild). This combo is godsend for me. But as I have mentioned this is my first
Becca product, so I cannot compare the formula, finish or colour of this highlighter & blush with its full-sized couterparts.

Champagne Pop is a soft gold highlighter with warm undertones. It is velvety to the touch, very intense on the skin yet not glittery like a disco ball. It is more of a bright, super-shimmery finish. If any of you is a highlighter junkie, you need this in your life. But if you like the glow on your face to be subtle and natural, then you might consider skipping it. I loveee a good, bright highlight and I am obsessed with
Champagne Pop like every other person. It is just so flattering. I find its intensity very similar to
theBalm Mary Lou-Manizer.

Flowerchild is a warm peachy pink blush with a satin finish. It might look very light in the pan especially compared to other duos. But fret not, it transfers very well. It is beautifully pigmented and quite buildable. I did find it to be a teeny tiny bit chalky in the pan for some reason though. Besides that the blush imparts a stunning rosy radiant flush to the cheeks. I am obsessed with this super-easy-to-blend formula and peachy-pink shade. The shade is a little more pinkish than in my swatch. My camera was just not cooperating.

Both the blush and highlighter last 6-8 hours. And for 38 bucks you are getting two luxury products; I cannot think of a better deal. This duo is my new found love and be prepared to hear me raving about it all the time from now on.
